Sheaths have been produced by a local supplier from a durable, stain-resistant polymer-coated leather
sourced in New Zealand. They are made with an edge fillet or welt to protect the stitching from
the blade edge, and
are of glued, stitched and riveted construction. At present only black sheaths are available.
They are of a pouch-type design,
made to be quite deep and tight to help prevent the knives being lost. As noted elsewhere all of my knives
are fitted with a brass lined thong hole so that a cord loop may be added to assist in removal of the
knife from the sheath. Large belt loops accommodate at least
50 mm / 2 " wide belts.
I have recently bought an Adler 105-64 leather sewing machine and have begun making sheaths in-house. I intend to add a
flap covered sheath shortly, and will soon offer sheaths for sale by themselves.
